Believe it or not, I buy the mix just to eat some batter like I did when my Mom made a cake for me 30 years ago. This tastes very different from the classic yellow in its batter form. If you like the yellow, stick to it; I bought this accidentally, but have given it a fair try. You definitely notice a difference. I've tried preparing with both oil and butter, but it just doesn't remind me of the yellow mix. It is richer, grainier, and little less sweet.
